about

Eduardo Brito and Sandy Kilpatrick travelled by car between Finisterre, Finistère, and Land's End, three places that share the same name in Spain, France and England.

From that 5000km journey together, they came up with two stories - one made of Eduardo's images, and another of Sandy's music. The music consists of the notes and field recordings Sandy made en route, which he later pulled together for the final recording of the soundtrack. Sandy selected 9 of Eduardo's photos, the ones that touched him the most, and then made 9 compositions inspired by the photos. It's a very dreamy and delicate work, known together as "Terras Últimas".

Track Name: The Sea-Swallowed Sailor
I could happily disappear now, into that mist, into that sea.

I caught sight of some warblers in the reeds on the Coast of Death,
Golden reeds dancing in a haze of silver, whipping in the wind.
The warblers sang and lifted skywards; and I felt my Spirit lifting with them, the living Spirit.
Just the way that swallows are supposed to carry the soul of a dead sailor homewards,
The warblers carried me. It’s just that my soul was living, and my body was still alive,
Yet with my body enveloped in the mist I felt so…complete -
A black-coated silhouette sparkling with droplets of water;
The rush of the sea sounding on the rocks.
If one could choose a transition from life to death then this would be it:
A merging with the atmosphere;
Another blast of particles dissipating into the infinite light.

I think of those who I love and have loved, and how things would change for them.
In fact I text a message to my wife explaining my sense of disappearing,
Of being harmonized into one with the world,
And she replies:
You are my sweet Biophilic Man! My man of nature!

I wonder if this is what the great mystics talk of when they talk of the oneness of all things.
Track Name: Into The Light
I’ve got a weight on my mind
I’m just trying to let it go
Heavy burdens and cares won’t silence
The child in my soul

As I run on the border-line
Way beyond time
And into the light

Into the Light
Into the light
Of a fathomless sea

Into the Light
Into the light
Into the light
Of a fathomless sea

I’ve got a weight on my mind
I’m just trying to let it go
Heavy burdens and cares won’t silence
The child in my soul

As we run on the border-line
Way beyond time
And into the light

Into the Light
Into the Light
Of a fathomless sea

Into the Light
Into the light
Into the light
Of a fathomless sea
