lyrics

I could happily disappear now, into that mist, into that sea.

I caught sight of some warblers in the reeds on the Coast of Death,
Golden reeds dancing in a haze of silver, whipping in the wind.
The warblers sang and lifted skywards; and I felt my Spirit lifting with them, the living Spirit.
Just the way that swallows are supposed to carry the soul of a dead sailor homewards,
The warblers carried me. It’s just that my soul was living, and my body was still alive,
Yet with my body enveloped in the mist I felt so…complete -
A black-coated silhouette sparkling with droplets of water;
The rush of the sea sounding on the rocks.
If one could choose a transition from life to death then this would be it:
A merging with the atmosphere;
Another blast of particles dissipating into the infinite light.

I think of those who I love and have loved, and how things would change for them.
In fact I text a message to my wife explaining my sense of disappearing,
Of being harmonized into one with the world,
And she replies:
You are my sweet Biophilic Man! My man of nature!

I wonder if this is what the great mystics talk of when they talk of the oneness of all things.
